New Glycol Header tank strap mounts made.

Newly made Glycol Header Tank mount strap made by Doug Mcdonald. An original one is in the background for comparison.

Installing the first Header Tank strap on the left side of  the number 3 engine.

Installing these new build straps was a tedious job with having to ensure the spacers were reinstalled correctly.

Glycol tank installed on number three engine.

This is the first time that this engine has had a Glycol Tank installed permanently since it last ran on an aircraft.

Refitting stbd inner engine

With the help of  the forklift and numerous volunteers, the number 3 engine was refitted to the Lancaster.

Installing the mounting bolts

After fitting the merlin onto its engine mounts, work got underway to install the eight mounting bolts and vibration pads.
